Construction Trades
Prepare for a Career in the Construction Industry
GILA offers multiple classes to prepare students for transition into post-secondary training and/or entry-level positions in the construction industry, including welding, carpentry, and more.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
Students are offered classes in carpentry, woodworking, welding, and computer-aided design software used for drafting, modeling, and architectural drawing.
ALUMINUM WELDING
Once basic welds are mastered, students build hands-on projects including: ATV trailers, boats, and tool boxes.
CERTIFICATION
Students can earn a certificate from the National Center for Construction Education and Research in their construction technology classes.
WOODWORKING
Carpentry students learn hand/power tool safety, as well as a variety of skills, from floor framing to roof construction. Each student designs and builds a model shed from start to finish.
