GILA CAREER PATHWAY:
Cosmetology
Earn Credentials Toward Your Cosmetology License!
High-school students in GILA’s cosmetology program work toward a license to practice cosmetology in the state of Alaska. The students have to complete 1,650 hours of education in the program to obtain this license. In addition, students can work toward certifying themselves in the field of manicuring.
MANICURING
A variety of hands-on courses cover nail care beautification, product knowledge, and customer service.
SKINCARE & MAKEUP
Skills covered include: facial techniques, skincare methods, and makeup application.
HAIR
Our students receive valuable lessons on hair care: everything from shampooing, cutting, coloring, chemical texture, and conditioning the hair.
EYEBROWS
Our cosmetology program also features the ever popular art of waxing and eyebrow shaping.
